War, because it's nice to have flexibility when blowing things up.
Rits for a similar reason.

Too right Mate!!!
Mine too dude, being able to buff the party like no other as well as put out nice damage is second to none! And I love her animations when she shouts! Also, white weapons and armor looks simply angelic!!!
Second is my war and ranger...

Wars ....the most flexible _build wise_melee class ..
swords..axes..hammers..
adrenaline attacks ...energy spamming ...tanking ...
and the real reason i adore them is ...WE scythe ..HUGE damage without casting 5 enchants before every battle ..
used to love crit sin but ...critical eye-critical agility-way of the master-aura of holy might-critical defenses or way of perfection ..before EVERY battle wore me thin ..same goes for dervish ....
Paragons are PVE Gods I enjoyed getting survivor with them without even trying ..

Mesmer by far, you don't see the "debuffer" style caster in many games. Plus there is plenty to do if your bored with that, wanna do damage you can, wanna heal you can. Fast casting is wonderful(Its saved my ass plenty of times and its just damn convienent.) Plus its funny to make people think they are uber(anybody who plays a class with passive effects knows what I'm talking about)

monk by far.
why? Because they were the first healing profession to be implemented into this game, and still are the main healers today. Sure others can do it well, like Necromancers, Ritualists, but when many hear of the word "heal", they'll think of a monk.
Protection capabilities are awesome too, wide variety of choices, lots to do, can turn the tides of any battle.
They are almost always in party groups!
And if that is not enough, the smiting capabilities!!! Now, they are just pure awesome. You can make yourself a build in a couple of minutes and see the result of ownage. RoJ, SoJ, these skills are great. This damage is armor ignoring, not many other professions have more than a couple of armor ignoring damage skills! Double damage vs. undead too ftw. Smiters Boon tied with some ally targeting smiting skills = lots of healing, like 100 health per use, thats really good for something dealing lots of damage!
Classic farmers, one of the best professions for it. (55 monk, 600/smite etc.)
very good in pvp for obvious reasons.
I just know I made the right choice all those years ago.

Sins- independent class, aggressive temperament, challenging style of play
Necros- Superb anti-melee hexes, [lingering curse], evil persona about them

Dervish and Mesmer.
Dervish is just a very versatile, effective, and fun melee profession. The different enchantments can let you snare and spread conditions, or simply ramp up your damage (and they do tons by default with a scythe), or allow you to use some very potent self-heals, or a mix of those. And the avatar skills are awesome.
Mesmer is simply fun to play. Yeah, you do need to know how various enemies act in order to run it well in PvE, but seriously, I just have such a blast playing on mine. While hacking things to bits is always fun, there's just something about messing around with your enemies, interrupting their spells and skills, and covering them with hexes that cause them to kill themselves that's always entertaining.

Most definitely Monk. I like keeping people alive more than I like killing them, I guess. Guild Wars' also makes healing more tactical then other games, so there's a little more fun there than in most games.
After that? Paragon, Ranger, and Necromancer. Paragons because they add so much to a party, Ranger because you can be really, really annoying in Alliance Battles (and Aspenwood), and Necromancers are just cool.

Ritualist and Paragon. Ritualist has the capability to do anything really, and Paragons have all kinds of party support. and i like the way both classes look, though i wish theyd make a non-white paragon armor.

my fav class?
Necro ~ I absolutley love minions, and the other abilities they've got mean I'm rarley in a situation that I can't work well in. That and their style taps into my dark/gothic side
Assassin ~ After playing all the other physical classess I made a sin and never looked back, their ability to deal damage pve or pvp is simply unmatched. That and I've always been partial to ninjas >.>
Ritualist ~ My first class in the game, love em to death but latley they just haven't had the abilities to keep me coming back like the other 2. They are still hands down the coolest looking class in the game though.

warrior (except that WE shit, although i do play it because it's so stupidly good) because everything else is a bitch role to help the warriors kill shit and win the game. also they're fun to play because hitting people in melee range with an axe or hammer is just too satisfying and knockdowns are sweet and they're not a lame shitter class like assassins or dervishes.
ranger is pretty cool too because the split templates (the ones with nat stride and mending touch) are really fun. BA turrets were fun but stupidly overpowered i'm glad they're gone.

You will keep hearing favorites from every profession...your best bet would be to find what makes the game fun for you...because Its a fact that after you gain all the gold, weapons, armor, titles and ranks in PvP-PvE the only thing that will keep you playing is the class that you find entertaining...
